Northern Sweden’s ICEHOTEL: Luxury on the ‘Rocks’

warm options are available the restaurant areas for the reception – where the bride is welcome to go as bare as she pleases.

For those who opt to spend the night in the 'cold' rooms, most are pleasantly surprised at how cozy the experience actually is. The mattress – despite its ice frame – and the animal pelts keep guests warm throughout the entire night.

Boasting a minimalist aesthetic appeal typical of Scandinavian design, the

ambiance is that of peaceful serenity regardless of how many guests are loitering in the lobby or lingering in the bar – a curious sight of heavily-bundled bodies with oversized mittens huddled together drinking from glasses made of ice.

Though clearly a winter attraction, it is possible to visit ICEHOTEL during summer months – albeit to a completely different type of experience. Visitors can view sample rooms in the art center as well as

witness workers constructing the IceBar.

Before long, however, the days get colder and the team prepares for the construction of the new hotel. The process begins all over again, and lovingly concludes with a magical display of awe-inspiring beauty.
